Dear SAHSA Members,

I am writing to let everyone know that SAHSA is currently accepting
nominations for Vice President of SAHSA for 2013-14.

The VP works under the President of SAHSA for one year, and then becomes the
President of the organization the following year. The duties include working
closely with the American Historical Association to, well, advance the
history of South Asia. Officers of SAHSA are expected to be members of the
AHA and be able to attend the Annual Meetings, in NYC (2015) and Atlanta
(2016). Please consider self-nominating or sending a suggestion of a
candidate with his/her contact details. If I could hear back by Wednesday,
Nov 20th, that would be fantastic. You can reach me by email:
anne.hardgrove@utsa.edu [1] or by text: 210-710-7108.

On that note, it's not too early to begin planning panels for the AHA
meetings in NY. The meeting theme is "History and the Other Disciplines" and
the deadline for panels is February 15th, 2014.

We have an excellent line-up of panels at the 2014 AHA which meets Jan 2-5 in
DC, including a cocktail party on the evening of Saturday, Jan 4th. I'll send
out a schedule shortly. Hope that everyone's well and hope to see you in
January!

best regards,
Anne
